Milal is an international evangelical movement, which intercedes for people with disabilities all over the world. It was started in 1979 in Korea by a theologian of the Presbyterian Church, who went blind for no apparent reason.


Milal Europe is the European branch of Milal.

What is the meaning of Milal?
Milal in Korean means "wheat grain" - in reference to the Bible verse John 12.24.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. “

Who is involved in Milal?
Milal is an organization of Christian believers, who belong to various Christian churches, to Christian communities and to groups which are working with people who have special requirements because of disabilities.

The three tasks of Milal
1. Enlightenment: Education in society and churches about people with disabilities
2. Service: Serving people with disabilities
3. Evangelism: Preaching the gospel to people with disabilities

The three visions of Europe Milal
1. People with disabilities in Europe shall come to know the love of God.
2. The work of Milal in Third World countries shall be supported financially and with personnel.
3.Collecting information about special activities for people with disabilities within and without of churches in Europe and using this information for productive work in other regions.

Milal in action

    • Publishing: “Milal & World” magazine
    •  Activities: Organizing of Milal camps and of concerts in old people’s  and nursing homes or in facilities for people with disabilities
    •  Milal Scholarship: for students with disabilities
    •  Visiting service: for people with disabilities in communities and institutions
    • Prayer meeting: organized by Milal on specific sites
    • Cooperation with various communities, institutions, groups and facilities for people with disabilities
    • Project “Bridge Concert": Milal wants to build a bridge between people with and without disabilities by this project (performance of classical concerts). People with disabilities, their dependents and care keepers shall enjoy highly-skilled and diverse cultural life having encounters with musicians performing at a high level.
